Jane Murdock is Derby-based artist and postgraduate student with an emerging research interest in art curation as part of her interdisciplinary practice. She has recently become an affiliate member of Banks Mill Studios in Derby.
Jane holds a BA Honours in Textiles from University for the Creative Arts and is expected to graduate with an MA in Fine Art (also UCA) in the summer of 2023 and is in the process of applying for doctoral study .
Jane’s primary research, both professionally and academically, focuses on the inter-relatedness of the human-fungal kingdom within a framework of new materialist and curatorial methodologies and speculative posthuman futures. This research is rooted within her audience-facing practice as she seeks to create dialogue around current the current ecological zeitgeist. The prospect of applying for group and solo exhibitions is deepening Jane’s interest in curatorial theory particularly within the digital world.
