Jess Baxter

Jess Baxter is Assistant Curator of International Art at Tate Modern. She has worked on the exhibitions A Year in Art: Australia 1992, the 2021 Turbine Hall Commission Anicka Yi: In Love With The World, and A World in Common: Contemporary African Photography, opening summer 2023.

Prior to this she was a Tate Collection Producer, and produced the event Late at Tate: Waves (2019) and A Place I Knew But Not Yet, a display exploring notions of temporality and future British dystopia. She also worked at the Royal Academy of Arts creating the public programme, and holds an MA in History of Art from the Courtuald Institute.

Her curatorial interests are rooted in feminine and genderfluid spirituality, folklore, memory, ghosts, medieval/contemporary connection, inheritance, and constructions of Britishness.
