Jo McLaughlin

Jo McLaughlin (she/her) is a curator, art historian and podcaster based in London. Having trained at The University of Glasgow and Kingston University, London; her career began in regional auction houses before moving to Pangolin London where she curated their public programme highlighting the work of important Modern British and Contemporary sculptors. Shows Jo curated included Breon O’Casey: The World Beyond and Carl Plackman & His Circle.

Jo is currently the Senior Curator for the art and design studio Acrylicize where she works with clients all over the world to build contemporary collections with meaning and heart.

Jo’s curatorial practice looks at breaking down the traditional elitist nature of the art world; curating collections which are both beautiful and accessible. She is the host of the iTunes Top 40 Jo’s Art History Podcast and is working on writing her first art historical book. She splits her time between London and Glasgow.

Jo’s love of British Art and Art History is extensive but she is particularly interested in Post -War Sculpture, Art in Public Spaces and the history and changing landscape of the British Art Market.
