Kris Hillquist

Kris Hillquist is a computational and sonic artist, and researcher, living in Edinburgh. Kris is particularly interested in the role of social class in the arts. They strive to promote inclusivity and access to underrepresented groups, especially those from working-class backgrounds.

Kris’s work explores and reflects upon notions of belonging and place, whether real or imaginary. They also compose electronic music and soundscapes. Their work spans digital and physical worlds; artefacts, installation, performance, and podcasts.

Kris has exhibited worldwide, including with The Wellcome Collection, The Artbyte Gallery, and The Royal Scottish Academy. They hold a BA in Sonic Arts from Middlesex University and a MA in Computational Art from Goldsmiths College, University of London.
