Lisa Maddigan Newby

Lisa Maddigan Newby is an art historian specialising in postwar British art.  From 2023-25 she will be a post-doctoral researcher at the Henry Moore Foundation.  Her research focuses on the interdisciplinary networks and exhibition cultures associated with London’s postwar art world and has previously been supported by the Paul Mellon Centre for Studies in British Art.

Lisa is a Research Fellow at the University of East Anglia, where she completed an AHRC-funded PhD in Art History in 2017.  She has worked as an associate tutor, research assistant and project curator at UEA, and as a research assistant at the University of Oxford. Before studying for her PhD, Lisa worked as a museum curator and as a project manager for artist-led galleries and studios.
