Margaretta Frederick

Margaretta Frederick (she/her) is Curator Emerita of the Bancroft Pre-Raphaelite Collection at the Delaware Art Museum, having served as Annette Woolard Provine Curator of the collection for many years. During her curatorship she initiated and enabled national and international partnerships and exhibitions and promoted the work of female artists in the Pre-Raphaelite circle. Exhibitions included Poetry in Beauty, the art of Marie Spartali Stillman, c0-curated with Jan Marsh (2015)  and A Marriage of Arts & Crafts: Evelyn & William De Morgan co-curated with Sarah Hardy, Director and Curator, De Morgan Foundation. Her current work includes the compilation of the correspondence of May Morris, in partnership with Anna Mason, Director of the Museum of the Order of St. John; the artistic exchange between Barbara Leigh Smith Bodichon and George Eliot; and Frederic Shields’ Chapel of the Ascension.
