Naomi Gariff is a curator based in the Northwest of England. In her current role as Programme Curator at Blackwell, the Arts & Crafts house, she leads a rolling exhibitions programme that celebrates craft, past and present. Naomi is passionate about supporting makers working in traditional crafts whose practice centres ethical and sustainable making.
Her recent exhibitions have included Halima Cassell: Reflections (2023), Paul Scott: Cumbrian Blues (2022), and James Fox: Something in Common (2022).
In 2023 Naomi was awarded the Art Fund’s inaugural Sir Nicholas Goodison Award for Collecting Contemporary Craft. The award will fund an ambitious, research-led project that will culminate in the acquisition of new and important works for Blackwell’s collection; enriching its scope and diversifying its narratives.
Her research interests include public and industrial history, the Arts & Crafts Movements of Britain and Ireland, and British contemporary craft.
