Rabindranath X Bhose is an artist, writer and dancer living in Glasgow. He is rooted in artist led projects, with a focus on community making and experimental programming.
Rabindranath is a graduate of School of the Damned, a peer-led, nomadic alternative art school. He is a trustee of Market Gallery, an artist-run space in Glasgow, where he was also a member of the programming committee between 2018-2021. He is currently part of the Satellites programme with Collective, researching the spiritual and queer resonances of bogs.
He has undertaken artist residencies across the U.K., most recently the Caregivers Residency at the Scottish Sculpture Workshop in Aberdeenshire, where he researched the tarot figure of the Hanged Man, in particular its relation to inversion and gender transcendence. He also delivers workshops to develop embodied critical faculties, for example in 2021, a workshop on Consensus Decision Making for the Ignorant Art School Sit-In #2: To Be Potential.
In 2018, Rabindranath undertook a Programme Traineeship at Hospitalfield. He has 7 years of experience working with grassroots organisations and institutions in project management, financial and administrative roles, particularly as an artist’s assistant and artist support worker specialising in support for disabled practitioners.
