Surya Bowyer

Surya Bowyer is a curator and historian. He is currently working on Collecting the Boundaries of Art in the Science Museum Group, an AHRC-funded collaborative doctoral project between Science Museum Group and the Department of History of Art, Birkbeck, University of London. Previously he was Curator of Collections at Queen Elizabeth’s School, Barnet, where he led an extensive digitisation project and curated the permanent exhibition Ties Through Time. Before that he taught at Sorbonne University’s Faculté des Lettres.

Surya has published on subjects including Lee Friedlander’s self-portraits, reading visually, and the Wayback Machine. He is available for freelance writing, research, and curatorial projects.
