Funding Opportunities for the Study of British Art

Applications are now open for the spring 2024 round of the Paul Mellon Centre funding programme. The programme supports research, educational activities and the dissemination of knowledge in the fields of British art and architectural history, from the medieval period to the present day and across the spectrum of relevant geographical and cultural contexts.
On offer are:
Senior Fellowships, £60,000 to cover a twelve month period of research
Mid-Career Fellowships, £18,000 to cover a four month period of research
Postdoctoral Fellowships, £15,000 to cover a six month period of research
Junior Fellowships, £8,000 to cover a three month period of research (applications only open to those based outside of the UK)
Rome Fellowship, a three month stay at the British School at Rome and an honorarium
Research Support Grants, up to £2,000 towards a research trip
Event Support Grants, up to £3,000 to support an organisation in hosting an event
Applications are also open for the third round of the New Narratives awards, designed to increase the diversity of perspectives of researchers and students within the field of British art.
The awards on offer are:
MA/MPhil Studentship, £32,000 for one year to cover the University fees and support living costs of an individual undertaking masters level studies.
Doctoral Scholarship, £32,000 per year for three years to cover the University fees and support living costs of an individual undertaking doctoral studies.
Early Career Fellowship, £35,000 per year for two years to cover living costs of an individual undertaking research.
