Open Call for the 60th International Art Exhibition, La Biennale di Venezia

The British Council’s Shane Akeroyd Associate Curator open call for the 60th International Art Exhibition, La Biennale di Venezia is now open! The opportunity is open to a mid-career curator in the UK who will collaborate with British artist Sir John Akomfrah CBE RA (left) on the development of his commission opening in Venice during April 2024.  This role provides a unique platform for a curator, with experience of commissioning new work and writing for a variety of audiences, to take the next step in their career.

About the opportunity

A fee of up to £20,000 is offered for the role subject to confirmation of deliverables upon appointment, since two of the deliverables are optional. Suggested deliverables are outlined in part six of the full Open Call document below.

We particularly welcome and encourage applications from candidates who are underrepresented in the Visual Arts sector.

Submissions must be received by 19 March 2023, 23.59 (UK time).
