2022 marks a landmark year for the Venice Biennale. It is the first time in which women of colour represented Britain, the USA, New Zealand, Scotland and France and saw the first Black women in its history awarded the prestigious Golden Lion.
As the Biennale draws to a conclusion, join the British Art Network’s Black British Artists Research Group for a panel discussion that will reflect on the history of British artists of African, Caribbean and Asian backgrounds at the Venice Biennale.
Featured speakers include Gilane Tawadros (Director, Whitechapel Gallery) and Christine Eyene (art historian and critic, Liverpool John Moores University).
